The best software, like the best objects, tends to disappear. You notice it only when it fails. Everything else is quiet competence.

Good design is as little design as possible

Every feature is a liability until proven otherwise. The discipline is not in what you add, but in what you refuse.

This is harder than it sounds. Saying no to a reasonable request is the job.
